Annette’s Hair Studio & Spa announces the availability of the Elos by Syneron for faster treatment of patients’ unwanted hair. It is a medical device cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to permanently and safely reduce unwanted hair on all skin types in a comfortable, non-surgical, no downtime way. It is the first major breakthrough in aesthetic technology in a decade. The Elos offers consistent, accurate and permanent hair reduction at a much faster speed than other treatments. Speed plays a large factor when attempting to treat large areas on patients, such as men’s backs or women’s legs.
What to expect with Laser Hair and Vein Removal
Patients can expect a 75 to 90 percent clearance of hair with six to eight treatments. Finer and non-colored hair requires additional treatments. In a recent study, 43 percent of patients achieved a greater than 50 percent decrease in unwanted hair after only one treatment.
The Elos works by uniquely combining Diode Laser and Radio Frequency (RF) energies. The laser pre-heats the target area or follicles. Simultaneously, Bi-Polar RF is directed to the pre-heated area. It follows the heat, in other words, it follows the path of least resistance. It is not chromophore-dependent, meaning it can treat hair with little or no pigment or color.
Traditional Laser and intense pulsed light-based hair removal systems cannot effectively remove light or non-pigmented hair since these devices rely on melanin or color in the hair to treat it. Similarly, most lasers cannot be used on tanned or darker skin types, as the light is drawn to the pigment and can cause burning; however, the Elos high speed hair removal device provides safe and effective treatment of unwanted hair with no downtime or adverse effects.
Is Laser Hair and Vein Removal Safe?
The Elos is also approved by the FDA for treating vascular lesions, spider veins and leg veins. It effectively reduces the appearance of visible lesions in one to three treatments throughout a three to four week period with no downtime. Spider veins are formed by the dilation of a small group of blood vessels located close to the surface of the skin. They can appear anywhere on the body, but are most commonly found on the face and legs. While the exact cause is unknown, heredity, pregnancy and hormonal influences are believed to be primary factors contributing to the emergence of spider veins.
It is a comfortable, non-invasive method to treat these vascular issues on the skin without damaging the skin tissue. In a recent study, 75 percent of patients experienced a greater than 50 percent clearance in visible vessels, with 30 percent of the patients achieving a 75 to 100 percent improvement in vessel clearance. Follow-up examinations showed no damage to the epidermis.
Annette’s is committed to providing our customers with the best aesthetic technology available. With the Elos’ successful combination of RF and laser, there is now a safe solution available to effectively treat unwanted hair, vascular lesions, including facial lesions, spider veins and leg veins.
